CRIME OF THE WEEK: A rooster was reported walking down Madison Street at about 6 p.m. on Sept. 24. The Village of Mamaroneck trapper was unable to locate

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the animal, but was told by area residents that the bird was a pet that lived in a neighborhood home. According to the Village Building Department, it is not legal to have roosters living in a home. Later that night, a wild flying squirrel was reported inside a Walton Avenue home. The trapper responded at about 11 p.m., and reported the condition corrected.

 

LARCHMONT

PENAL LAW ARREST

A 31-year-old resident was arrested on 9/20 after officers were dispatched to Pinebrook Park on a report of a person acting erratically. After locating the suspect he was found to be in possession of several metal knuckles.  He was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and removed to a medical facility for evaluation.

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A Yonkers woman was arrested on 9/21 and charged with operating with a suspended license after she was involved in motor vehicle accident on Palmer Ave.  The vehicle was released to a valid driver and the operator released on her own recognizance.

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A Bronx woman was arrested on 9/22 and charged with operating with a suspended registration after she was observed operating her vehicle on Boston Post Rd.  The vehicle was impounded and the operator released on his own recognizance.

 
TOWN OF MAMARONECK

IDENTITY THEFT
A 50-year-old Dante Street man said a fraudulent check was drawn on his bank account without authorization. Sept. 20

LEAVING THE SCENE
A 55-year-old Rockland Avenue woman said an unknown car struck her husband’s 2004 Infiniti while it was parked in a Myrtle Boulevard lot, causing damage to the rear quarterpanel and bumper. Sept. 24

LARCENY
A GPS, valued at $400, and headphones, valued at $100, were stolen from an unlocked car parked in a Country Lane driveway sometime overnight. Sept. 24

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
The passenger-side front window of a car parked on Country Road was smashed sometime overnight, but nothing was taken. Sept. 24

LARCENY
A GPS, valued at $400, was taken from an unlocked car parked in a Hickory Grove Drive driveway sometime overnight. Sept. 24

LARCENY
The driver-side window of a car parked on Dundee Road was smashed sometime overnight, and a bag containing $500 in cash was taken. Sept. 24

LARCENY
The driver-side rear window of a car parked in a McKenna Place driveway was smashed sometime overnight and a black briefcase, valued at $400, was taken. Sept. 24

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
The driver-side window of a car parked on Fernwood Road was smashed sometime overnight, but nothing was taken. Sept. 24

GRAND LARCENY
Two tires and two rims, valued at about $1,100, were taken from a car outside a Locust Terrace home sometime overnight. Sept. 27

GRAND LARCENY
A Fenbrook Drive woman said her brown Gucci purse, valued at $200, various credit cards and $4,500 in cash were stolen from her home sometime between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The matter remains under investigation. Sept. 28

LARCENY
Baby formula, bottled water and soda, with a total value of $451.32, were reported stolen from Stop & Shop at 1326 Boston Post Road at about 8 p.m. Police said a man, described as black and about 5-feet-7 with a medium build, walked out of the store with the merchandise and was driven away by another man. The matter remains under investigation. Sept. 29

MARIJUANA POSSESSION
A 21-year-old Larchmont woman was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana at about 1 a.m. on Alda Road. Sept. 21

LARCENY
All four tires were stolen sometime overnight from a 2008 Subaru parked in a New Street lot. Sept. 21

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A trailer parked in the rear of a Mt. Pleasant Avenue business was damaged with graffiti sometime between Sept. 16 and Sept. 17. Sept. 21

The rear of a building on the 900 block of East Boston Post Road was damaged with graffiti sometime overnight. Sept. 21

LARCENY
A GPS and a battery booster pack was stolen from an unlocked car parked on Travers Avenue. Sept. 21

Miscellaneous graffiti tags were found on signs and mailboxes on Delancey Avenue. Sept. 21

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Knickerbocker Avenue woman said her sons were questioned by a man claiming to be a detective while they were playing on Soundview Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. The woman said the man was driving a dark blue minivan. He reportedly flashed a gold badge and asked which one of the kids yelled at him. Police were unable to locate the man, and they have not been able to identify the subject. There have been no additional complaints. Sept. 21

Graffiti was spray-painted on a Taylors Lane fence. Sept. 22

LARCENY
A teller at Chase Bank allegedly took money from a customer who intended to make a deposit. Police said the bank made full compensation to the victim and declined prosecution. Sept. 22

YOUTH COMPLAINT
Three youths were reported on a garage roof on Highland Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. They were gone upon police arrival. Sept. 22

A car parked in a North Barry Avenue driveway was scratched sometime overnight. Sept. 22

EXPOSURE
A 23-year-old homeless man was charged with exposure for allegedly urinating in public at about 6:45 p.m. Sept. 22

LARCENY
A bike valued at $500 was reported stolen from a bike rack on Halstead Avenue near the train station. Police said the bike and the lock are both missing. Sept. 22

A caller reported a suspicious man sleeping under blankets in the rear of 715 Mamaroneck Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Sept. 23

An unknown vehicle struck a car parked on Old White Plains Road sometime overnight, causing damage to the driver-side mirror, rear bumper, and wheel well. Sept. 25

A 51-year-old Connecticut man was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he allegedly struck a parked car on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 28

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Playground equipment was damaged at Mamaroneck Avenue Elementary School sometime between Sept. 20 and Sept. 21. Sept. 28

RULES OF THE ROAD
A 47-year-old Mamaroneck man was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. on Palmer Avenue. Sept. 28

DWI
A 31-year-old Mamaroneck man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Hillside Avenue at about 8 p.m. Sept. 28

Bridge fencing on Hillside Avenue was spray-painted with graffiti. Sept. 29

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A 50-year-old Elmhurst, N.Y., woman was charged with disorderly conduct on East Boston Post Road at about 9:30 a.m. According to police, the woman became unruly during the traffic stop, causing a crowd to gather. Sept. 29
