Pedestrial survives accident ; baby born at the curb.
A 71 year old pedestrian struck by a car in the pouring rain near on Mamaroneck Avenue Saturday night remains hospitalized. Mamaroneck Village police Lt. James Gaffney says the driver, a Port Chester man, will not be charged. The pedestrian was hit on Mamaroneck Avenue as he crossed in traffic at Jefferson Avenue near the Hess gas station.
Andrea O’Neill of Larchmont, head nurse at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, delivered a baby in the back seat of a parked car in front of the Hospital Monday. Doctors say the mother, Pamela Akukuma and baby Richard are doing well.
