Food Pantry Collection To Feed Record Numbers

The Task Force, which runs the local Food Pantry, along with the United Way, will hold its annual “Have a Heart for the Hungry” food drivefrom 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the A & P in Mamaroneck and Trader Joe’s and Stop & Shop in Larchmont.
 
With steadily rising numbers, the Food Pantry is expecting a record number of local families to turn to the Food Pantry for help thisThanksgiving, leaders said. About 500 families – 50 more families than lastyear – are expected.
 
More than 650 local families use the Food Pantry on a regular or occasional basis, they said.
 
Families or individuals, including teens, are needed to help collect, load and sort food collected this weekend. Volunteers should call 698-3553 and leave a message.
