Sheldrake Nature Center (www.sheldrakecenter.org ) has interesting programs for children and adults.
Lorna London Ballet has been a Larchmont tradition for over 50 years. Next door to Turtle Park (which is a great place to wait for your ballerina if you have other little ones), it has it’s spring dance recital at Mamaroneck High. Great for traditional ballet, classes taught mainly by Lorna’s daughter, Connie. My oldest daughter has been there for 8 years and my youngest starts this coming fall. It’s the real deal.
yoiu really should include the rock club in here–they are in NEw Rochelle at the Racquet club–they have great after school programs for kids .
City Center Dance in White Plains offers several classes for various ages. The studios are very nice and provide for open viewing for parents. The staff is very friendly. My daughter is taking a creative movement class and she loves it. I was concerned about selecting a dance school with real dance teachers. The teachers on staff have real dance credentials. So far I am happy with my choice.
Does anyone know which of the dance schools would be best for a little boy who is interested in dance? (e.g., a dance school that has a few boys and wants them).
Thank you,
Does anyone know of a mens indoor/outdoor soccer league in the Westchester area (preferably closer to New Rochelle) that I can join?
Thanks
Carolyn,
A Dance Studio has a few boys, not many, and I think welcomes them. The studio is not strong on ballet, but concentrates instead on tap, jazz and hip hop. If you haven’t chosen a school yet, give them a call and see how many boys are registered for Sept.
In addition to all the wonderful programs listed, I would like to recommend Prodigy Learning Center as an after school program for any students who assistance in reading comprehension, essay writing, math foundations, test preparation (ISEE, SSAT, ACT & SAT) or college-essay development.
That’s cool that people can receive the loan moreover, this opens up new opportunities.
Any place for a tween girl to take a class in fashion design or fashion illustration?

Thanks for the fashion class recommendation. It was really helpful!
