Life By Design: Over the Border in Byram
Not to be confused with Port Chester which is on one side of the Byram River, and Greenwich which is on the other,
you will find, well, Byram, the new little SoHo of Westchester winding up Mill Street.
This coming Wednesday the area is coming to life for night time shopping at its holiday event celebration.
Those of you who have no idea of what I’m talking about may have been to Tarry Lodge at 18 Mill Street near Main St, the swanky but warm Mario Batali eatery that only disappoints when you can’t get a reservation. Or you may have possibly gone up the hill and crossed over into Connecticut to get wild music and yummy margaritas at the Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar, a joint with great food and hipsters galore.
Rumors abound that there are clothes shops that have popped up on Mill St. with clothes you would actually buy! There are coffee joints, consignment shops and architects with their charming shingles out.
And now, at 251 Mill Street, a unique design co-op, Gifted Hands, is having its grand opening from 11:00am – 10 pm. They want Loop readers to please drop by for wine and cheese (in the evening hours)
It’s nice to know there’s a little ‘downtown’ right around the corner.
…we are all very thrilled about GIFTED HANDS and look forward to being there WEDNESDAY!!!
