Local Hoorays: Winning Photos, Winning Website
Two locals at the top of their game in excellence on the Web and photography. Congratulations to all.
from proud father Jasun Martz :
This has been a busy past few months for 15-year-old Piper Martz of Larchmont. First, the young photographer, who is a sophomore at Mamaroneck High School, was thrilled that one of her photos had been selected for an exhibition at Pace University in Pleasantville as part of the Dyson College of Arts exhibition of student work from area high schools. Then a week later she learned that one of her photos placed her as a finalist in the “Best College Photography 2010” contest for Photography’s Forum Magazine (out of more than 13,000 entries). A few days later, an image by Martz was the featured cover shot on this years Mamaroneck High School course catalog. In addition, her photography was awarded a prestigious regional Gold Key award from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards (out of more than 165,000 applicants). And finally, one of her photos was selected by the Mamaroneck High School art department faculty for an exhibit at the Mamaroneck Artists Guild entitled Young Artists on the Rise.
Congrats, Piper!
