Mamaroneck Child Sex Abuse Arrest

Police say a Mamaroneck Village man has been arrested for sexual abuse of a child under eleven years of age. Update

 

 

 

 

from Mamaroneck Village Police:

  As a result of an investigation conducted by the Detective Division of the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department, Mr. Jorge D. Hernandez (DOB 06/26/1960) of 429 Union Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY was placed under arrest on Thursday, May 27, 2010.  He was charged with one count of course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree; a class B felony.

Mr. Hernandez is charged with engaging in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a young girl from March of 1998 through 2001. The sexual conduct occurred at a time the child was less than eleven years of age.   

 

Mr. Jorge D. Hernandez was brought before Judge Richard E Lanza on May 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Upon arraignment the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office  recommended  bail  be  set  by  the Court  at $250, 000.00.  

The Court set bail as requested and served a Stay Away Order of Protection upon Hernandez. The defendant was then remanded to the Westchester County Jail. He will return to the Village of Mamaroneck Justice Court at 9:30 a.m.on Thursday, June 3.
