Peter Pan Lands at Murray Avenue School

Mark your calendars!  On the weekend of January 22-23, the Murray Avenue Elementary School in Larchmont will produce its second annual school musical, "Peter Pan, Or the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up".  Those who attended last year’s performance ("The Sound of Music") do not need to be told — this is something you should not miss.  In two weeks of intensive rehearsals, KJK Productions, a professional theater company hired by the PTA, with the help of some 80 parent volunteers, will once again turn a rag-tag group of 160 children into a polished (well, sort of) group of actors, dancers and singers.  That’s right, 160 children, from grades 2-5, divided into two separate casts, each giving two performances.

Cast A will go on stage at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, and the curtains will rise on Cast B at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Performances last only an hour, with no intermission.  This year, Murray’s wonderful old auditorium sports a new lighting and sound system — there are no "bad seats" in the house!  Tickets can be purchased online in advance , through January 16, at , or at the door on the day of the performance.  But don’t wait, the house was nearly packed last year and tickets could sell out!   Whether you have children in the play or not, you will thoroughly enjoy this event.

Bring your hankies, because you’re going to need them!
