VILLAGE OF LARCHMONT

BURGLARY ARREST

A 62 year-old Mamaroneck Town man was arrested on 4/8 after he entered a Larchmont Manor residence under construction and attempted to remove copper leaders.   He was charged with Burglary 2nd, Criminal Mischief 3rd, and Possession of Burglary Tools. He was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A Hawley, PA man was arrested on 4/9, and charged with operating with a suspended license after he was observed operating his vehicle on Beach Ave.  The operator was released on his own recognizance.

 

SCARSDALE

ROBBERY

A 49 year-old resident reports that, while walking on Walworth Avenue near Claremont Road, she was approached from behind by two women who pulled her coat hood over her head and forcibly took her handbag.  The suspects ran away into a waiting car, a light blue older-looking vehicle with a rusted hood.  The matter is under investigation.

NOISE COMPLAINT/VILLAGE CODE COMPLAINT

Neighbor called reporting a loud generator being used in the area.  Upon investigation, police spoke to a homeowner who was running the generator to rid home of gasoline smell.  She shut it off.  36 Vernon Road.  April 5

NOISE COMPLAINT

Caller reported loud music and people at Chat American Grill.  Police found no excessive noise.  1 Christie Place.  April 5

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

Two calls regarding sick raccoon on properties.  Animal(s) not located.  50 Tompkins Road and 24 Edgewood Road.  April 6 & 8 

SUSPICIOUS CAR

Report received of a car driving erratically and making donuts.  Car was gone when police arrived.  7 Mayflower Road.  April 7

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

Caller reported two men in front of 120 Brite Avenue in a silver van with CT license plates while homeowner was not there.  Police spoke with the men who were working at the location to install sump pumps and were awaiting arrival of the homeowner.  April 7

ASSISTANCE RENDERED

Employee at Scarsdale Village Court reported incident with irate individual regarding method of payment wherein she stated she was threatened.   The male individual denies any threat. Village Hall, 1001 Post Road.  April 7

ASSISTANCE RENDERED

Babysitter accidentally locked herself and children out of house.  Police gained entry through a window.  *** Saxon Woods Road.  April 7

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT

A 21 year-old resident says she was threatened on Facebook by a former classmate. Police are trying to reach the classmate to tell her to stop.  ***Crawford Lane.  April 9

ASSISTANCE RENDERED

Homeowner reports that his home was hit by an egg.  There was no damage. Patrol to conduct drivebys.  80 Morris Lane.  April 9

ASSISTANCE RENDERED

A 57 year-old Mount Vernon woman became irate at Bank of America over a block on her account. Police remained on the scene while the issue was worked out.  1 Christie Place.  April 10

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

Greenburgh police reported youths throwing stuff off of bridge at 2 Fenimore Road and 2 Bronx River Parkway.  Upon arrival at the scene, police were unable to locate anyone.  April 10

 

NEW ROCHELLE

WCBS reports on a professional burglary spree in New Rochelle

 

WEAPONS ARREST

Police arrested a 19 year old New Rochelle man and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana.  Responding to a report of a disorderly person possibly smoking marijuana, police arrived and found two young men standing on street with a black-colored backpack on ground near them.  The men denied ownership of the backpack that contained six cans of spray paint.  Upon further investigation, police found the suspect to be in possession of metal knuckles and a bag of marijuana.  Union Avenue and 6th Street.  April 9

ASSAULT

A 26 year-old man reports being hit over the head with a beer bottle while sitting in front of 238 Washington Avenue.  The victim suffered lacerations to the back of the head and was taken to the hospital.  Police are investigating.  April 11

BURGLARY

NR Wireless USA was burglarized through a broken glass panel to the left of the front door and an unknown number of cell phones were taken.  405 North Avenue.  April 11

PETIT LARCENY

A 55 year-old Tuckahoe woman was arrested for stealing dog food and assorted groceries valued at $121 from Stop and Shop.  2425 Palmer Avenue.  April 11

PETIT LARCENY

Skincare products of unknown value were reported taken by an unknown suspect from CVS.  309 Main Street.  April 11

LARCENY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

Resident reports that someone took a bag containing an ipod, a debit card and the car radio from his parked 2001 Nissan Maxima. Police found no evidence of forced entry. 29 Highland Avenue.  April 9

LARCENY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

Resident reports a bag missing from his parked 2000 Nissan Xterra containing driver’s license, credit cards, debit cards and green card. Police found no evidence of forced entry.  Union Avenue and Warren Street.  April 10

LARCENY

A sign belonging to the boy’s varsity lacrosse team was reported taken from 26 Byrd St.  April 10.

INJURY REPORT

A crossing guard reported being struck by an unknown female bicyclist while performing his morning crossing duties at 411 Westchester Ave. April 12.

SIMPLE ASSAULT

A Rye man reported that he was bruised after being struck from behind by four youths with a hockey stick in a silver and gray Toyota while bicycling on Boston Post Road. The man said a 15 or 16 year-old leaned out of the car window and struck him.  April 12.

ANIMAL STRUCK

A doe was injured after apparently being struck by a car near Midland Avenue and Playland Parkway. The doe was found at 66 Milton Road and was put down. April 9.

COUNTERFEITING/FORGERY

A Rye business owner complained that somebody was sending out fraudulent checks in other states under the business’ name.  April 8.

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT

A Rye woman reported receiving repeated telephone calls from an unknown party claiming she had won over $1 million in an attempt to gain personal information. April 8.

INJURY REPORT

A female bicyclist reported being struck by a blue Jaguar, which allegedly left the scene, while riding on Purchase Street on April 3rd. The woman said she did not realize she was injured until later.  April 7.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Port Chester woman was arrested after allegedly harassing a passing motorist at Station Plaza and Peck Avenue.  April 7.

BIKE STOLEN

A Rye man reported that his bike was stolen sometime between 8:50 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. from the bike rack at Station Plaza.  April 6.

 

TOWN OF MAMARONECK

GRAFFITI

Graffiti was reported on an exterior wall at CentralSchool. April 11.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Two cars, a 2007 BMW and a 2004 Subaru, were damaged with key marks in the Central School parking lot. April 11.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A 2006 Lexus was damaged with key marks in the Larchmont Acres parking lot. April 10.

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK

4/9- A man reports a woman approached him at 407 Ward Avenue on the street and engaged in conversation. Afterwards, he discovered, their wallets had been "switched."

4/9- A woman reports she was driving and stopped at the light on the Boston Post Rd and Orienta Avenue when a man in a green car rear-ended her. He signaled that he would pull over, but instead, took off. She followed him while a passenger called police, and cut him off and trapped him. When police arrived, he was arrested for being unlicensed.

4/9- Suspicious vehicle reported at 513 Alda. Police discovered marijuana and a drive with a suspended license.

4/10- Someone reported finding a small dog. Attempts to make contact withe the owner were unsuccessful.

4/11- Burglary, 125 Halstead Avenue at 7:49am. Windows smashed on storefront and a number of DVDs taken.

4/11- Resident of The Parkway reports a coyote sighting.
