VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A woman reported that someone had written graffiti on her car sometime between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on May 25 while it was parked at 689 Mamaroneck Avenue. May 26

 

EXPOSURE

A 37-year-old homeless man was charged with exposure at about 7:30 p.m. after police saw him urinating on a bridge leading into Columbus Park. May 28

 

DWI

A 29-year-old Rye man was charged with driving while intoxicated at 690 Mamaroneck Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. He was also charged with making an improper turn. May 29

 

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

A 49-year-old Bronx man was charged with possession of marijuana after police found him to be carrying an unlit marijuana cigarette on Station Plaza at about 7:33 p.m. May 29

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

Police received a report from a Munro Avenue resident that kids were drinking under the porch of a neighbor’s home at about 9:30 p.m. The kids had left before police arrived. May 29

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

Youths allegedly stole the keys to the door of McDonald’s at 1205 Boston Post Road and returned them because they knew they had been identified. No arrests were made. May 30

 

ASSAULT

Roman Flores, 19, of Mamaroneck was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and Israel Avila-Gonzalez, 23, was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, for allegedly beating up an 18-year-old Village man and a 20-year-old Village man who lived in the same apartment building. According to police, an argument broke out at about 6 a.m., and the victims’ father flagged down police on Mamaroneck Avenue. One of the victims was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center with severe bleeding to his right eye. May 30

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

An Orienta resident said an iPod Touch and a GPS were taken from her unlocked car between 3:30 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. June 1

 

TOWN OF MAMARONECK

 

GRAND LARCENY

A Union Avenue resident reported that her wallet was stolen while she was shopping at Stop & Shop at 1326 Boston Post Road. The woman said she had her wallet when she entered the store, and it was gone when she left. Her driver’s license, registration, credit cards, an ATM card and $70 in cash were missing. May 28

 

GRAND LARCENY

A Prince Willow Lane woman said a GPS and two credit cards were taken from her car parked in her driveway sometime between May 18 and May 25. Seven vehicles were broken into on May 18 in the same area, and police said the incidents are still under investigation.

 

 

SCARSDALE

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Deerfield Lane resident reported a coyote on his property at 9:45 a.m. The animal was gone when police arrived. May 24

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

Police received a complaint at about 10 p.m. of kids making noise and playing basketball after dark at Edgewood School. The youths left the grounds without incident. May 24

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

Police received a complaint at about 10:15 p.m. of kids making noise on the Hyatt Field playground. The youths left the area without incident. May 24

 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Two 18-year-old Scarsdale men were arguing outside the 7-Eleven at 6 Garth Road at about 2 p.m. The men said they had a verbal dispute at the store the previous night and started arguing and pushing when they encountered each other at the store again that day. May 25

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Greenacres Avenue resident reported a sick fox in the neighborhood at about 7 p.m.. Police were unable to find the animal. May 25

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A caller reported seven loud kids on the Edgewood School grounds at almost 11 p.m. The youths were sent away without incident. May 26

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A Brite Avenue resident reported at about 8:30 a.m. that her Toyota was broken into and items were taken from it. May 27

 

ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

An Ogden Road resident reported that her unlocked Audi was entered sometime between 9 p.m. on May 26 and 7 a.m. on May 27 while parked in her driveway. No items were taken. May 27

 

ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A Brite Avenue resident reported that her unlocked Honda was entered sometime between 11 p.m. on May 26 and 1 p.m. on May 27 while parked in her driveway. No damage was done and nothing taken. May 27

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A Brite Avenue resident reported that his Nissan was entered the previous night and papers were taken. May 27

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A Ridgecrest North resident reported that two of her cars were entered overnight and money was taken. May 27

 

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

A 19-year-old Scarsdale resident was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at the Brite Avenue tennis courts at about 2:30 am. May 28

 

HIT AND RUN

A caller reported that a gray SUV struck his vehicle at 999 Post Road and 134 Popham Road at about 11 a.m. and fled the scene. May 28

 

BURGLARY

An Overhill Road resident reported at about 3 p.m. that her house may have been entered. May 28

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A Dobbs Terrace resident reported that his Toyota had been entered and property taken. May 28

 

HARASSMENT

An Eastchester man reported that he was jogging on Popham Road at about 8:45 p.m. when a car drove by him and a passenger threw a punch at him and shouted at him. May 28

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

Police received a report of loud youths at Hyatt Field at about 10:15 p.m. They youths left upon police arrival. May 28.

 

YOUTH COMPLAINT

Police received a report of a large gathering of youths at George Field at about 10 p.m.. Police dispersed the group without incident. May 30.

 

HIT AND RUN

A resident said his Mercedes had been hit while parked at Quaker Ridge Golf Club at about 3:30 p.m. May 31

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A resident said her car had been broken into and items were taken while it was parked in the Scarsdale Municipal Pool parking lot at 303 Mamaroneck Road at about 3:30 p.m. May 31

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A New Fairfield, Conn., man said his car was egged on Bradley Road at about 4:30 p.m. May 31

 

LARCENY

A Carstensen Drive resident reported that his bike had been stolen at about 10:15 p.m. May 31.

A Rye student reported that her cell phone was stolen during a class activity. May 25

 

SIMPLE ASSAULT

A Danbury, Conn., man was arrested after allegedly hitting a coworker in the face at about 5:30 p.m. at 2 Manursing Way. According to the victim, a verbal dispute escalated and he was punched in the face. May 25

 

ASSAULT

William Y. Zavala, a 20-year-old Greenwich Conn., man, was charged with third-degree assault at about 6:30 p.m. at Rye Town Park. Responding to a report of a fight in progress, police said they found the victim at the park bleeding profusely and covered in blood. The victim told police he was hit with the blunt end of a silver and black knife, and he was transported to White Plains Hospital, where he received two stitches and seven staples to his head. The victim described his attacker as a Hispanic male wearing black basketball shorts. Police located a man lying in the grass at the park that fit the description and placed him under arrest. Police said a bruise was visible on his face and blood was splattered on his head and body. No knife was found in his possession. He was transported to White Plains Hospital and received treatment for a strained elbow. May 25

 

HIT AND RUN

A Rye man reported that somebody hit his black Audi while it was parked on Library Lane at 10:55 a.m. May 26

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

The superintendent at the Blind Brook Lodge at 66 Milton Road reported that sometime between 10 p.m. on May 26 and 8 a.m. on May 27 the windows on one of the garages were broken. May 27

 

DRUG POSSESSION

Lee Dragani, a 20-year-old Mamaroneck man, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, making an unsafe turn and avoiding a traffic device at about 5:45 p.m. According to police, Dragani cut through a parking lot to avoid a traffic light and heavy traffic and was stopped on Theodore Fremd Avenue. Police said they found three cell phones in his car and a fanny pack containing $2,620 in cash. Dragani allegedly told police the money was from a detailing business he worked at in Mamaroneck, but did not provide a name and was vague about its location. At headquarters, police said they found four cellophane bags containing marijuana in Dragani’s underwear. Police found an additional $106 in cash in his pocket. May 27

 

BURGLARY

A Boston Post Road resident returned home with his family to find his sliding glass door broken, his master bedroom rifled through and a laptop computer stolen. Police said another computer was found by the door, perhaps left behind accidentally, but that nothing else was taken from the home. Police said none of the family’s neighbors heard anything. The family told police that they left home at about 4:30 p.m. and returned about 9:30 p.m., and noticed the burglary. May 28

 

DRUG POSSESSION

Ramon C. Beltre, a 46-year-old Port Chester man, was charged with felony DWI for having a previous DWI conviction within a 10-year period and criminal possession of a controlled substance at about 3 a.m. Police said they saw a car driven by Beltre make an illegal left-hand turn onto Boston Post Road without its headlights on. Police also said they noticed an object dragging from the car. When police pulled the car over, they detected the smell of alcohol and noticed heavy damage to the front of his car. Beltre told police he had not been drinking. Another police officer approached at that time with the missing front-end part of Beltre’s car. When asked what he hit, Beltre said "nothing." According to police, Beltre then failed a field sobriety test and an Alco-Sensor test and was placed under arrest. During a pat-down, police found $4,149 in Beltre’s pocket. During an inventory of his car, police found a black bag with several bottles of prescription and nonprescription drugs and several slips of paper indicating bookie-type activity. They also found several loose pills in the black bag. Beltre is due back in court on June 15. May 29

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A Cowles Avenue resident reported that his house had been egged and that somebody left excrement on his front deck. Damage totaling nearly $2,000 was reported to the shutters, siding, shingles and front door. May 31
