Crime of the week:  Scarsdale: Responding to a call on Lockwood Road about missing property at about 7:15 p.m., police spoke to a complainant who said 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 he could not find his Sony PlayStation and believed his mother may have hid it from him. The complainant’s older brother tried to explain to the young man that he should not have called the police over the matter. Because the young man was still visibly upset, police offered to buy him ice cream. June 8

 

TOWN OF MAMARONECK

 

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

A Scarsdale woman said her 2008 Ford Expedition was damaged while it was parked in the Pier 1 parking lot at 1329 Boston Post Road at about 1 p.m. June 8

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A Richbell Road woman said the driver-side window of her car was broken and a GPS was taken from her glove box sometime overnight. June 10

 

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

A 41-year-old Larchmont man was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusing to take the chemical test and leaving the scene of an accident at about 10 p.m. Police said the man was driving his 2010 Audi at Palmer Avenue and Weaver Street when he struck the driver’s side of a Volkswagen and left the scene. He was later arrested at his Cambridge Court home. June 11

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A New Rochelle man said the rear passenger-side window of his 1999 BMW was broken and a GPS was taken from his car while it was parked on Palmer Avenue in Larchmont. June 13

 

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK

 

LARCENY

A resident said her iPod was taken from her car while she was having her car washed on Mamaroneck Avenue. June 8

 

ARREST

A Mamaroneck man was arrested and charged with having a suspended license. While doing a registration check, police found a warrant for his arrest out of Westchester Family Court. June 9

 

TRESPASSING

An 18-year-old Mamaroneck man was arrested for trespassing at F.E. Bellows Elementary School at about 11 p.m. June 9

 

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK?

The driver of a 2007 Mercedes Benz said she was stopped before a crosswalk at about 10:30 a.m. at Mamaroneck Avenue and Prospect Avenue when a pedestrian jumped and struck her car. The pedestrian said the driver of the car hit her as she was crossing the street. A witness’ account supported the driver’s story. The pedestrian refused treatment and no charges were made. June 10

 

PROPERTY DAMAGED

A Carroll Avenue resident said a tree branch fell on her car, smashing her windshield and damaging her hood. June 10

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

The front driver-side window was broken and a  GPS was taken from a car parked on Halstead Avenue. June 10

 

DRINKING ALCOHOL IN PUBLIC

Two homeless men and a Mamaroneck Town resident were charged with public consumption of alcohol at about 7:30 in Columbus Park at Van Ranst Place. June 10

 

ARREST

Julio Interiano, a 25-year-old Mamaroneck man, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and third-degree forgery, a misdemeanor, after police conducted an investigation at La Picolla Casa at 410 West Boston Post Road. The crimes allegedly took place between Feb. 15 and March 15. June 10

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A bag of marijuana was recovered in the back seat of a limousine that was being used for a teen party on South Barry Avenue. No arrests were made. June 10

 

BICYCLE STOLEN

A bike was stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Mamaroneck High School. June 11

 

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

A 24-year-old Mamaroneck man was arrested on his birthday for aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and speeding on Soundview Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. June 12

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Two cars on Forest Avenue were damaged and their taillights were broken. June 12

Two tires on a truck parked in a Halstead Avenue driveway were slashed overnight. June 12

The driver-side window of a car parked on Sherman Avenue was broken but nothing was taken from the car. June 12

 

BICYCLE STOLEN

A resident reported a bike was stolen from the porch of Rushmore Avenue residence on June 5 or June 6. June 12

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

Police received a report of one man chasing another man with a sword on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 2 p.m. The men could not be located. June 13

 

BICYCLE STOLEN

A Trek mountain bike was reported stolen from Mamaroneck High School June 13

 

HIT AND RUN

A 17-year-old Rye boy was charged with leaving the scene of an accident at about 7 p.m. at West Boston Post Road and Fenimore Road. According to the victim, the teen threw something from his car that struck him. The victim then chased down the teen and approached him. The victim said the teen then struck him with his car and left the scene. June 13

AUTO ACCIDENT

A car driven by an elderly man crashed into a brick wall in the parking lot of Rye Town Park at about 9:30 a.m. His wife, the passenger, received medical attention. June 11

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

After receiving two complaints of a sick raccoon in the area of Milton Road and Dearborn Avenue around noon, police found the animal moving toward two young boys playing on a trampoline on Robert Crisfield Place. A police officer was able to get the children home. The animal then charged the police officer as he was approaching it, and the officer used his baton to deflect its advance. The animal then ran to the rear of a house on Hewlett Avenue, and charged the officer again. The officer then shot and killed the animal. June 11

An Oakland Beach Avenue resident reported that a fence on the property had been damaged overnight. June 13

A Mendota Avenue resident said a large planter in her yard had been smashed overnight. June 13

A fence from an Apawamis Avenue residence was destroyed and laying in the street. June 13

 

DRUG POSSESSION

Two Rye teens were charged with unlawful possession of drugs after police noticed them sitting in a car at a closed gas station on Theodore Fremd Avenue at about 1:15 a.m. Police said they detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the car and noticed a six-pack of beer in the car. One of the passengers in the car, a 17-year-old boy, was in possession of 24 pills of Adderall, a prescription stimulant, and a small bag of marijuana. A backpack in the back seat of the car contained a large zip-lock bag with marijuana and a bottle of vodka. Police also found a silver knife inside the car as well as more beer. The 19-year-old driver of the car was charged with criminal possession of a firearm/knife, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol because he is under 21. The 19-year-old passenger was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. June 10

 

HIT AND RUN

A man reported that his car had been hit outside the Rye Grill & Bar on Station Plaza and that the person left the scene. June 10

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A Walnut Street resident said her husband’s car was spray-painted overnight. June 10

 

LARCENY

An employee at the Marriott Courtyard said somebody had left the hotel without paying his bill. June 14

A Tunstall Road man said an unknown person cashed a check into his account and then took the money. June 7

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A caller reported a sick raccoon near Fox Meadow Road at about noon. The animal was not located by police. June 7

A Clarence Road resident said somebody threw a cement block at his 2001 Hyundai and broke the back window while it was parked overnight in front of his home. June 9

An Olmsted Road resident said her Acura was entered overnight and property was taken. June 9

A Farley Road resident said a GPS was taken from her 2006 Toyota. June 10

A Nelson Avenue resident reported graffiti on her walkway. June 10

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A Rural Drive resident complained of loud noise coming from the Saxon Grill on Mamaroneck Road. June 10

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Birchall Drive resident said there was a sick raccoon on her property at about 8:30 a.m. Police located a young raccoon that had climbed a tree and could not determine if it was sick or scared. Police advised the resident to call back if the raccoon came down and appeared sick or aggressive. June 11

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A Ferncliff Road resident said she heard a female possibly screaming "help me now" at about 5 p.m. Police spoke with several neighbors, who said they heard nothing, and canvassed the area but did not see or hear anything unusual. June 11

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A Chesterfield Road resident complained of loud youths, possibly at the Brite Avenue tennis courts, at about 1 a.m. The youths were gone upon police arrival. June 12

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A caller said there was graffiti on the garbage cans in the play area at Corell Park. June 12

 

LARCENY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE

A New Jersey woman said her 2004 Volvo was broken into at Catherine Road and Kelwynne Road. June 12

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A caller complained of loud youths at the Greenacres School field at about 10:30 p.m. The youths cleared the area upon police arrival. June 12

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A glass window was broken at an office at Chase Road and Christie Place. June 12

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A Walworth Avenue resident complained of a loud youth party at about 11:30 p.m. Upon police arrival, the youths were leaving the residence and there was no sign of unlawful activity. June 12

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A resident reported loud noise coming from a Stratton Road residence just after midnight. Police spoke with the homeowners, who lowered the music and went inside. June 13

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A resident complained of loud youths at Griffen Avenue and Broadmoor Road at about 1 a.m. Police advised the group to quietly leave the area, which they did. June 13

 

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

A 49-year-old Riverside, Conn., woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated at about 10 p.m. at Secor Road and Wildwood Road. June 14

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Church Lane resident reported a sick raccoon on her property at about 7:30 a.m.. The animal was gone upon police arrival. June 14

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A New Rochelle man was arrested on 6/7 and charged with operating while his privileges to operate in New York were suspended after he was observed operating his vehicle on Boston Post Rd.  The vehicle was impounded and the operator released on $200 bail.

LARCENY

A Mamaroneck resident reported on 6/8 that sometime the day someone stole his bicycle, from Lot 3.
