CRIME OF THE WEEK- A passing postal worker told police he saw a person climbing into a window at a Sycamore Road home at about noon. Police observed several painters, as well as the homeowner, on the scene. August 17, Scarsdale.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

TOWN OF MAMARONECK

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT
A New Rochelle man said his 2010 Lexus was sideswiped while it was parked on Murray Avenue sometime between 9 a.m. and 7:20 p.m. The man said a witness left a note on his car with a description of the vehicle and the driver. No arrests have been made. August 16

PETTY LARCENY
A Palmer Avenue woman said seven shirts belonging to her husband were stolen after they were dropped off on her porch by a dry-cleaning delivery service sometime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. August 18

GRAND LARCENY
A Dundee Road man said an unknown person hacked into his phone, posed as an employee and requested $2,000 in cash. After the man wired the money, he realized he had been scammed. August 19

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Carol Lane resident said the two side-view mirrors on his 2008 BMW were smashed. A hammer was discovered at the scene. August 19

GRAFFITI
A Garden Road resident said the street and sidewalks in front of her home had been marked with graffiti sometime overnight. August 20

WARRANT ARREST
A 50-year-old Boston Post Road man was arrested on a warrant for  harassment. August 20

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
An Elkan Road man said the rear window and the driver-side window on his car were damaged sometime overnight while it was parked in his driveway. Nothing was reported missing. August 22

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT
A Carriage House Lane resident said she had been receiving annoying phone calls from an unknown male. August 23

LARCHMONT

LARCENY ARREST

A Mount Vernon woman was arrested on 8/17 after she was observed by store employees removing items, valued at approximately $45, from the CVS on Chatsworth Ave.  June Murphy, 42, was stopped by responding officers on Chatsworth Ave., and charged with Petit Larceny.  She was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.

LARCENY

A representative of a Connecticut based construction company reported on 8/20 that someone cashed several stolen company checks totaling $1000.

LARCENY

A Mamaroneck Town man was arrested during the early morning hours of 8/21 after he was observed by a Larchmont Police Officer removing food items that had been delivered to the front door of a Chatsworth Ave Pizzeria. Thomas Hyland, 23, was charged with Petit Larceny and released on his own recognizance.

LARCENY
A Wynmor Road resident said  a GPS was taken from her unlocked Toyota sometime overnight. August 16

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Brewster Road resident said a male with a white clipboard was going door-to-door at about 8 p.m. Police said the man was distributing political literature and all was in good order. August 16

NOISE COMPLAINT
A Nelson Road resident complained of loud kids in the Edgewood School parking lot at about 9:15 p.m. Police located a small group of youths, who left the area. August 16

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A caller reported a fox or coyote in the area of Harvest Drive at about 9 a.m. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the animal. August 17

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

ARREST
A 19-year-old White Plains man was arrested on a warrant at about 2:30 p.m.. He had been arrested in January after being found in a stolen vehicle. August 17

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A Mamaroneck Road resident said she saw a coyote in a driveway at about 3:30 p.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. August 17

NOISE COMPLAINT
A 15-year-old boy was taken to White Plains Hospital at about 10:30 p.m. after police saw him being carried by two of his friends at about 10:30 p.m. in the field area of Fox Meadow School. Police said the boy, an out-of-town visitor, was intoxicated. His mother was notified.  August 17

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A Claremont Road resident complained of a sick raccoon in front of her home at about 7:30 a.m. Police observed the animal in front of a neighbor’s home, but it ran away as police approached. August 18

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A Claremont Road resident said the sick raccoon had returned to her driveway at about 8:45 a.m. The animal was gone upon police arrival. August 18

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT
A caller reported an erratic driver in a yellow Mini Cooper on Drake Road at about 10 a.m. Police were unable to locate the car. August 18

LARCENY
A Farragut Road resident said her GPS was taken from her car overnight. August 18

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A postal worker reported a rabid raccoon in the bushes on Walworth Avenue at about 1:10 p.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. August 18

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Rock Creek Lane resident said his 2004 Honda was scratched while it was parked in the freightway garage. August 18

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A caller said a woman with a baby was holding up a sign begging for money near the entrance to the train station at about 8 p.m. Police searched the area but could not find the subject. August 18

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A caller said there was a coyote wandering around the cut-through on Harvest Drive at about 9 p.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. August 18

NOISE COMPLAINT
A Brewster Road resident complained of a loud party at about 11 p.m. Police located an adult party on Brite Avenue, and the resident said she would keep the noise level down. August 18

NOISE COMPLAINT
A Chateaux Circle resident complained of loud noise coming from an Audi on the street. The driver of the car said he pulled into the area to drop off a resident and immediately turned the radio down. No further police action was required. August 18

NOISE COMPLAINT
A Haverford Avenue resident complained of a large group of youths making a lot of noise just before midnight. Police found the group and sent them on their way without incident. August 18

A caller complained of loud kids just after midnight in the area of Valley Road and Gorham Road. They were gone upon police arrival. August 19

A caller complained of loud kids around 3 a.m. in the area of Ewart Street and Lee Road.  They were gone upon police arrival. August 19

A caller complained of an erratic driver on Post Road at about 6 p.m. Police were unable to locate the car. August 19

A Ferncliff Road resident said an unknown drunk male rang her doorbell just after midnight. Police searched the area with negative results. August 20

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A caller reported a woman sleeping in her Lexus in the area of Foxhall Road and Palmer Avenue at about 7:30 a.m. Police located the woman, who was passing time before going to work. August 20

ILLEGAL DUMPING
A passerby reported that someone was dumping debris in the waterway in the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center at about 9:30 a.m Police were unable to locate the subject or the debris. August 20

DISORDERLY PERSON
A Village Court employee said a male subject was yelling at her about two tickets he received at about 4 p.m. The man was given copies of his summons and left without further incident. August 20

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A caller reported a man was going door-to-door selling magazines to benefit sick children at about 7:15 p.m. Police were unable to locate the subject. August 20

A caller complained of a man walking dogs in Davis Park and not cleaning up after them at about 12:30 p.m. Police were unable to locate the subject. August 21

DISORDERLY PERSON
A worker at Scarsdale Pool said a man in a black Lexus pulled int o a handicap parking spot and was cursing and screaming into his cell phone at about 12:30 p.m. After an employee asked the man to keep it down, he reportedly rolled up his windows and continued yelling. When the worker approached a second time, the man drove away. Police located the driver, who said he was yelling because he has a hard time hearing. August 21

HIT AND RUN
A Pelham woman said she was stopped at a light at Post Road and Mamaroneck Road at about 3:30 a.m. when her 2008 Acura was hit from behind by a Mitsubishi. The driver of the car left the scene. August 22

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Cohawney Road resident said he found several beer cans near the curb and near his dining room window. He also noticed that the outer window to his dining room was broken. August 22

FOUND PROPERTY
A Heathcote Road resident found a bicycle in his side yard at about 6 p.m. August 22

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Reynal Crossing resident reported a suspicious car, occupied by at least one person, parked across the street at about 1 a.m. Police located the subject, who said she was just talking with her friend. No criminal activity was observed. August 23

 

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK

A bush that stood 4 feet high, spanned two feet wide and flowered purple lilacs was reported stolen from a Delancey Avenue home in the Village of Mamaroneck. The bush was believed to have been stolen sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Aug. 19.

HIT AND RUN
A Cortland Avenue woman said the front bumper of her car was stuck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked on the street sometime in the past month. August 16

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Prospect Avenue man said an unknown person shot an arrow that struck the second floor of his home sometime between Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.

A 25-year-old Village man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at about 9:15 p.m. on Mamaroneck Avenue. August 16

LARCENY
A woman reported that her iPhone was stolen from a locker at New York Sports Club on Palmer Avenue at about 11:50 a.m. August 17

YOUTH COMPLAINT
A caller reported that two youths were driving some sort of motorized vehicles on Woodbine Avenue at about 1 p.m. Police were unable to locate the subjects. August 17

FIGHT IN PROGRESS
Two women were reportedly fighting on Waverly Avenue at about 1 p.m. Neither wished to press charges. August 17

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
After reporting at about 2:30 p.m. that wires connected to a security camera at the boat yard on Rushmore Avenue had been broken, staff at McMichael Yacht Brokers noticed that a 20-foot Wellcraft outboard that was in the process of being repossessed for money due was missing at about 4:20 p.m. The matter is under investigation. August 17

PROPERTY DAMAGED
A tree limb reportedly fell on a car parked near the basketball courts at Columbus Park at about 6:30 p.m. August 17

EXPOSURE
A 17-year-old Village man was charged with exposure after police saw him urinating on East Plaza at about 10:20 p.m. August 17

RULES OF THE ROAD
A 22-year-old Bridgeport, Conn., man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at about 2:17 a.m. on Cove Road. August 18

LARCENY
A sideview mirror was reported stolen from a car parked on West Boston Post Road.  August 18

Four Raleigh Road residents said items were removed from their unlocked cars sometime overnight. August 18

LARCENY
A Chestnut Avenue woman said a clarinet that had been left on her front steps for a friend to pick up was stolen sometime between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. No arrests have been made. August 18

ASSAULT
A 29-year-old Village man was charged with second-degree assault after allegedly hitting another man with a belt on Old White Plains Road at about 6 p.m. According to police, Alberto Vasquez was originally charged with third-degree assault before the charges were changed. The victim declined medical treatment. August 18

SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A 22-year-old Port Chester man was charged with possession of an open container of alcohol, littering, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, which were identified as antidepressants, at about 2:30 a.m. on West Boston Post Road. Police said the man was originally observed breaking bottles. August 19

A 22-year-old White Plains man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at about 2:50 a.m. on Mt. Pleasant Avenue. August 19

SUSPICIOUS PERSONS
Police received a report of people sleeping in the bushes on Valley Place at about 10:30 a.m. One of the individuals was later found passed out on a bench on West Boston Post Road. August 19

FRAUD
A Village resident said a check for $4,000 that was deposited into a bank account was found to be fraudulent. August 19

YOUTH COMPLAINT
Two youths were allegedly involved in an altercation on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 10 p.m. The matter was forwarded to the youth detective. August 19

PROPERTY LOST
A woman said multiple pieces of jewelry were lost during the course of her move out of a Fenimore Road residence sometime around Aug. 7. The woman said she doesn’t believe the items were stolen, but that she may have left them in a cab. August 19

NOISE COMPLAINT
Police received three noise complaints between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. regarding loud music and people on the rear patio at Molly Spillanes at 211 Mamaroneck Avenue. August 19

DWI
A 23-year-old Larchmont woman was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated after she was stopped for allegedly failing to obey a traffic device at about 2:30 a.m. on Halstead Avenue. August 20

A 28-year-old Danbury, Conn., man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding at about 7:30 a.m. on Mamaroneck Avenue. August 20

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Obscene graffiti was applied to a stop sign on Creek Road. August 20

BURGLARY
A Bleeker Avenue resident said someone entered the apartment between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and removed items. The matter is under investigation. August 20

DISPUTE
Two parties were involved in a dispute over money at about 9:15 p.m. on Station Plaza. Police said they mediated the argument and both parties left the scene without incident. August 20

Youths were reportedly hanging out and making noise at 1035 East Boston Post Road at about 12:30 a.m. August 21

A 26-year-old New Rochelle woman was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated after police reportedly observed her committing two traffic violations on West Boston Post Road at about 3:20 a.m. August 21

LARCENY
A man said his bike was stolen from outside the Duck Inn on West Boston Post Road sometime between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. August 21

An injured and intoxicated man was transported to a hospital after allegedly being punched in the head by his friend during a dispute on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. August 21

A 42-year-old Rye man was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated after police reportedly observed him speeding on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. August 22

A 23-year-old Poughquag man was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated after police reportedly noticed a violation in his registration/license plate display at about 4:30 a.m. August 22

HARASSMENT
A 24-year-old Osborn Avenue man was charged with second-degree harassment after allegedly striking his girlfriend in the face. August 22

A Wappanocca Avenue man said he discovered three of his fence posts had been damaged and one of the fence toppers missing at about 9:30 a.m. Three lamps were also smashed. August 20

An Evergreen Avenue woman said a tire on her 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee was slashed overnight while parked on the street. August 20
