Larchmont Village— Police have not updated public blotter since Sept. 25.
Why do people keep calling the police about coyotes and racoons? They are a fact of life. As long as they are not rabid or agressive they will just pass through. By the time the police arrive the animal is gone so why waste their time? Police cannot solve all annoyances. Their primary job is to handle CRIME. If the officer does see one what would you like him to do shoo it or shoot it?

Wiley, the coyotes and racoons don’t have mobile phones 😉
Now seriously, suppose the police departments were reorganized to include civilians for a wide range of functions that do not need to be done by Police Officers? Or suppose there were one number that people in the County could call to deal with non-emergency problems. Possibly cost-savings, improved efficiency?
Or we could probably have another long expensive study 🙂
