LARCENY
Electronic equipment valued at about $250 was stolen from an auto body shop on Waverly Avenue sometime overnight. August 23

A caller said gasoline was taken from the gas tank of his car while it was parked in the Regatta Parking Garage. Nothing was reported missing from the car, and it started and ran fine. August 25

A man was reportedly sleeping at the wheel of his car in the middle Prospect Avenue at about 6:15 p.m. He was gone upon police arrival. August 25

An unknown woman allegedly used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase a nonalcoholic beverage at O’Neills Country store on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. The matter remains under investigation. August 25

Six men were charged with having open containers of alcohol in Columbus Park at about 10:30 p.m. August 25

DWAI
A 37-year-old Brooklyn woman was charged with driving with ability impaired by drugs at about 8:15 a.m. on Lawn Terrace after allegedly driving her car into a tree.  Police said the woman’s ability was impaired by undisclosed prescription medication. August 26

SUSPICIOUS PERSON
What at first seemed to be a suspicious person in a vehicle on South Barry Avenue at about 12:15 p.m. turned out to be a pregnant Citibank employee taking a rest in her car during her lunch break. August 26

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Cedar Street woman said a 5-foot-6 woman came to her door and told her she worked for Con-Ed and wanted to see her overdue bill. The woman refused to let her in. The woman said she called Con-Ed about the incident and was told they had nobody in the area. August 26

A Shore Acres Drive resident said an unknown person threw debris onto his property from a passing car. August 26

BURGLARY
A West Boston Post Road resident said an unknown person took property valued at about $600 from his apartment sometime during the day when nobody was home. The matter, which was reported at about 1:45 a.m., remains under investigation, and police provided no information on how access to the home was gained. August 27

A Lawrence Avenue resident reported finding unfired bullets around the property at about 6 a.m. August 27

FRAUD
A Village resident said an unknown person tried to pass a fraudulent check in the amount of $3,000 at TD Bank on Boston Post Road. The matter remains under investigation. August 27

LARCENY
A boat owner said an unknown person boarded his vessel and took electronic equipment valued at about $900 sometime between Aug. 22 and Aug. 27. Police said it was unclear if the boat was in a yacht yard or in the harbor. The matter remains under investigation. August 27

YOUTH COMPLAINT
A group of youths were reportedly swimming in a closed swimming pool at 1015 Old Boston Post Road at about 8:30 p.m. No charges were filed. August 27

PROPERTY FOUND
A Walton Avenue resident reported finding a kayak at about 10 a.m. The boat was found to belong to the Orienta Beach Club and was used as a lifeguard beach device. A staff member said they didn’t realize the boat had floated away. August 28

FRAUD
An 82-year-old Palmer Avenue woman was allegedly scammed out of $25,000 over the past week. Police said the woman wired the money to an account in Jamaica because she was told she had won the lottery. August 28

A Fenimore Road woman said her neighbor has been videotaping her while she was in her backyard for the past year. August 28

DWI
A 49-year-old Larchmont man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Gertrude Avenue at about 11:15 p.m. after police allegedly stopped him for traffic infractions. He refused to take the chemical test. August 28

DOMESTIC ARREST
A 26-year-old Village man was arrested for harassment at about 12:30 a.m. on Beach Avenue. August 29

A 19-year-old Center Avenue woman was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child at about 1 a.m. Police said she was hosting a drinking party while her parents were away. The guests ranged in age from 18-20, police said. August 29

Unspecified damage was reported to a car parked on East Boston Post Road at about 7:30 a.m. August 29

An undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry were stolen from a commercial property at 426 Fayette Avenue sometime between Aug. 28 and Aug. 30. Police confirmed that there was a forced entry but said it was an ongoing investigation and provided no further details. August 30

A 48-year-old Split Tree Road resident said an unknown person charged $534.71 on his credit card sometime between Aug. 11 and Aug. 20.

A 38-year-old new Rochelle woman was charged with petty larceny after allegedly taking about $50 worth of grooming products from CVS at 2444 Boston Post Road at about 4:20 p.m. Police stopped the woman outside the store. August 24

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
An Alden Road resident said the passenger-side front window of his Nissan was broken while it was parked on the street. Nothing was reported missing from the car. August 28

BURGLARY
A man said a glass table valued at about $1,200 was taken from his North Chatsworth Avenue apartment sometime between Aug. 6 and Aug. 27 while he was in the process of moving out. August 27

LEAVING THE SCENE
A 61-year-old Mamaroneck woman said she was driving her 2008 Acura on Fenimore Road at about 3:20 p.m. when she was struck by 2006 Lincoln towncar. She told police that the driver applied his brakes but then proceeded north on Fenimore without stopping. The driver of that car, a 61-year-old man, said she swerved into his lane. The matter remains under investigation. August 27

A Maple Hill Drive resident said an unknown person entered his home through an unlocked bathroom window and ransacked his bedroom sometime between Aug. 6 and Aug. 28. It was unclear if anything was missing, and the matter remains under investigation. August 28

LARCENY
A Hillside Road resident said personal items, including a laptop valued at $1,600, an iPod valued at $400 and iPod speakers valued at $85, were taken from her car sometime overnight while it was parked in her driveway. August 25

A Forest Avenue woman said a large white SUV drove in circles across her lawn at about 2:30 a.m. Police located a car that fit her description on Goldwin Street and noted that it had thick layers of wet grass in the wheel wells and on the body. The car’s owner said his 18-year-old son had possession of the car at the time and agreed to make restitution to the victim. August 25

A Loder Street resident said she heard a noise at about 9:17 p.m., and looked out to see several youths break the side mirror on her BMW and attempt to knock her boat off a trailer. The damage was estimated at $250. Police were unable to locate the subjects. August 26

A resident said two tires were slashed on her car sometime between Aug. 24 and Aug 27 while it was parked in the area of Highland Road and Wappanocca Avenue. August 27

A Rye Town Park security officer said he was bitten on the right arm by a pit bull while he was trying to help resolve a dispute between two dog-walkers at about 7:20 p.m. August 27

YOUTH COMPLAINT
A caller said youths were throwing bottles in the road near Rye Beach Avenue and Milton Road at about 10 p.m. Police located the youths but found no evidence of bottles being thrown. August 27

RULES OF THE ROAD
A 24-year-old Port Chester man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and false personation at about 11 a.m. on Purchase Street and Station Plaza. Police said the man was driving a car with no license plates, and gave them a false name when he was pulled over. August 27

A Milton Road man said his car was damaged by an unknown person while it was parked in the Highland Hall lot on Aug. 21. August 28

A Pine Island Road man said someone threw a rock through the window of his home, causing $500 in damage, sometime between Aug. 22 and Aug. 29

DWI
A 21-year-old Pound Ridge woman was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with an unsafe tire and failure to use headlights with windshield wipers at about 9:45 p.m. on Purchase Street. Police said the woman said she was unaware she had a flat tire. Police also found a bottle of rum and several beer cans in the vehicle. The woman told police she was leaving a party in Harrison but hadn’t had anything to drink. Her blood-alcohol concentration was allegedly .17, more than twice the legal limit. August 29

A Thistle Lane man said an unknown number of people threw rocks through his living room window at about 10:30 p.m., causing about $3,000 in damage. August 30

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A Wingdale man was arrested on 8/22 and charged with operating with a suspended license and a suspended license after he was observed operating his vehicle on Chatsworth Ave. The vehicle was impounded and the operator released on $200 bail.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

The owner of a Larchmont Ave business establishment reported on 8/25 that sometime during the overnight hours two large planters, valued at $200, that were located outside the entrance to the business were damaged.

LARCENY

A New Rochelle woman reported on 8/26 that the previous day her cell phone was inadvertently left at the Larchmont Playhouse. When she returned to retrieve it, she was advised by employees that the property had not been turned in to them.

LARCENY

A Iselin Terrace resident reported on 8/27 that he sent funds to an individual in Kansas after the two entered into a business agreement stemming from a Craig’s List advertisement.  Reportedly after the money was received the party ceased all contact.

LARCENY

A Chatsworth Ave resident reported on 8/27 that his bicycle, valued at $300, was removed from the bicycle rack in Lot 3.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A sick raccoon was put down on Walworth Avenue at about 10 a.m. August 23

ASSIST CITIZEN
A Harrison man requested assistance with his Crawford Lane girlfriend, who was reportedly attempting drive a car at about 9:30 p.m. after consuming several alcoholic beverages. August 23

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Park Road woman said an unknown person threw a burning roll of toilet paper at her front door at about 10:30 p.m. Police checked the area and found it to be in good order. August 23

 ARREST
A 19-year-old Hillview Drive resident was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, a Class D felony, and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, at about 11 p.m. on Oak Way. Police said a caller reported a group of youths in an SUV parked at the dead end. When police arrived, they found a 2005 Toyota Forerunner with several teens inside the truck. Police detected a strong smell of marijuana in the vehicle. One of the boys was found to have a fake Maryland driver’s license in his possession.  August 23

A Sherbrooke Road resident said a car that was parked in his driveway sped off when he turned on the light and looked outside at about 2 a.m. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. August 24

An injured coyote was reported on Cushman Road at about 9 a.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. August 24

A caller said a construction worker was urinating in public in the area of Oxford Road and Post Road at about 3:30 p.m.. Police spoke with workers and advised them to refrain from urinating on a public street. August 24

LARCENY
A teen-age girl reported that her laptop had been taken from the bedroom in her Chesterfield Road residence. There was no sign of a forced entry. August 24

IDENTITY THEFT
A Sylvan Lane resident said someone withdrew $703 from his bank account using an ATM in Queens. August 25

ASSIST CITIZEN
A Danbury Conn., woman had to be convinced by her friends and police that she was too intoxicated to drive home from Metro Deli on Palmer Avenue at about 6 p.m. August 25

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A caller told police at about 6:30 p.m. that an injured owl had been limping around  Scarsdale Middle School all day. Police arrived and located the bird in the wooded area opposite Catherine Road. It was determined that the bird was a red-tailed hawk. A wildlife rehabilitator was contacted and secured the hawk. August 25

ARREST
A 40-year-old Saxon Woods Road resident was charged with second-degree menacing at about 10:20 p.m. The victim said he was physically and verbally abusive. August 26

A caller reported a dog was tied to a street light pole and apparently abandoned. The New Rochelle Humane Society was contacted, and a representative responded and removed the dog. August 26

A Rock Creek Lane resident said either a coyote or wolf was in her front lawn at about 7 p.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. August 26

NOISE COMPLAINT
A Stonewall Lane resident complained of loud music coming from Saxon Woods Golf Course at about 7:40 p.m. The manager agreed to lower the volume of the live music and adjusted the speakers. August 26

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A 17-year-old girl said an unknown person wearing an orange shirt rang the doorbell of an Oakstwain Road home at about 8:30 p.m., but was gone when she and her friend opened the door. Police were unable to locate the subject. August 26

ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller said his girlfriend was assaulted in the parking lot of Immaculate Heart of Mary School at about 3 a.m. Police located a small group of youths in the parking lot, and two girls in the group said they had a verbal argument. No further police action was required. August 27

DISPUTE
A Tompkins Road resident said she observed a young boy urinating behind a tree in Davis Park at about 1 p.m. The woman said she raised her voice to alert the child’s parent. The father of the 5-year-old allegedly became upset with her for scaring his son. Police advised the caller to contact the recreation department to request portable bathrooms for the park. August 27

LOST PROPERTY
A Hastings woman said she lost her wallet at about 1 p.m. at the Gourmet Chef on Wilmot Road. When she realized her wallet was missing she called to cancel her credit cards and was informed that two of her cards had already been used.  The woman was advised to contact Greenburgh Police because the charges had been made in that jurisdiction. August 27

A caller said she was locked in Chase Bank on East Parkway at about 8:30 p.m. The customer pressed the exit button and was able to get out. No police action was required. August 27

A caller complained of a loud party, possibly on Overhill Road, at about 5 p.m. Police searched the area with negative results. August 28

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Penn Road resident said a man knocked on her door and told her she owed him money before attempting to break into a car on the street using a hanger at about 6:15 p.m. Police located the man, who said he was locked out of his car. The subject said he was looking for a person who owed him money and realized he was at the wrong address. When he attempted to leave, he noticed he had locked his keys in the car. The subject provided valid identification and was the registered owner of the car. Police called for assistance to unlock the car. August 28

A Chateaux Circle resident complained of loud noise at Chat American Grill on Christie Place at about 11 p.m. Police responded to the area and found no music and people dining outside speaking softly. August 28
