VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK

 

DRUG ARREST

A 20-year-old Rye Brook man and a 16-year-old Larchmont teen were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Ralph Avenue at about 12:45 a.m. Oct. 13

 

HIT AND RUN

A caller said his car was struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked on Halstead Avenue, sustaining damage to its left rear quarterpanel, wheel and tire. Oct. 13

 

HIT AND RUN

A caller said an unknown driver of a black SUV backed into his car, causing front-end damage, in the parking lot at 640 East Boston Post Road at about 5:20 p.m. The driver of the SUV then allegedly fled. Oct. 13

 

BURGLARY

Jewelry and personal papers were stolen sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 5:25 p.m. from an apartment on West Boston Post Road. The matter remains under investigation. Oct. 14

 

HIT AND RUN

A car parked in a lot in Harbor Island Park was struck by an unknown vehicle. Oct. 14

 

IDENTITY THEFT

A Larchmont man said an unknown person obtained and cashed two personal checks in an amount greater than $10,000. The checks were apparently mailed to a different address than where the victim resides. Oct. 15

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A window of a car parked at CVS on East Boston Post Road was smashed at about 7:45 p.m., but nothing was taken. Oct. 15

 

LARCENY

Two cars parked at Equinox on West Boston Post Road were broken into between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The driver-side windows on both cars were smashed. Books and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken from one car. A handbag containing cash, personal papers and glasses was taken from the other. Oct. 15

 

LARCENY

A front-passenger-side window of a car parked at Healthy Fit on East Boston Post Road was smashed between 7 p.m. and 8:20 p.m., and a handbag with cash, personal papers and sunglasses was taken. Oct. 15

 

FIGHT

Police received a report of a fight in progress on Center Avenue at about 2 a.m. The subjects were gone upon police arrival. Oct. 16

 

DWI

A 62-year-old Mamaroneck man was charged with driving while intoxicated on North Barry Avenue at about 4 a.m. Oct. 16

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A Richbell Road resident said she heard a noise on her fire escape at about 5 a.m. Police found all to be in order. Oct. 16

 

CAR FOUND

A 2003 Saab that had been reported stolen on Oct. 4 was found parked on Station Plaza at about 10 a.m. There was no sign of a forced entry and nothing appeared to be missing. Police said it was unclear if the car had actually been stolen or simply misplaced. Oct. 16

 

FIGHT

A 55-year-old Yonkers man was charged with third-degree assault after a physical altercation with another man at about 2 p.m. on Mamaroneck Avenue. Police said the suspect was in his car when he allegedly exchanged words with a male pedestrian. The suspect allegedly got out of his car and a physical confrontation ensued. The men, who did not previously know each other, both suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention. Oct. 16

 

HIT AND RUN

A car parked on Munro Avenue was struck by an unknown vehicle, causing damage to the left rear quarterpanel.  Oct. 17

 

HAZARDOUS CONDITION

An employee for an oil-pickup company spilled a barrel of used oil off his handcart onto Halstead Avenue at about 8 a.m. The fire department responded for clean-up. Oct .  19

 

IDENTITY THEFT

A Florence Street resident said an unknown person made purchases of approximately $1,600 using the victim’s debit card number. Oct. 20

 

DRUG ARRESTS

Three 17-year-old males were arrested on Phillips Park Road at about 11:50 a.m. A 17-year-old Mahopac boy was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, and a Cortlandt Manor boy and a Mamaroneck boy were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing codeine in a pill form. Oct. 20

ARREST

William Reyes, a 31-year-old Mamaroneck man, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt after allegedly using one of his allotted phone calls from jail to contact a woman who had an order of protection against him. Police apparently overheard the call and knew he was forbidden to contact the woman.  Reyes had previously been arrested on Oct. 15 at about 12:45 a.m. on Howard Avenue and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. At that time, a male victim said he had received threatening calls from Reyes. Police found Reyes in the area, and he was allegedly in possession of a knife. Oct. 21

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A West Boston Post Road woman said she heard someone in her apartment just after midnight. Police found all in order. Oct. 21

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A Florence Street resident said an unknown person threw a rock through a house window at about 2 a.m. The damage was estimated at $500. Oct 21

 

DWI

A 24-year-old Scarsdale man was charged with driving while intoxicated at about 2:15 a.m. on Center Avenue. Oct. 21

 

LARCENY

A gaming system valued at $380 was reported stolen from a firehouse on Mamaroneck Avenue. Oct. 21

 

 

TOWN OF MAMARONECK

 

ARREST

A 24-year-old Halstead Avenue man was charged with criminal possession of stolen property. Police said he was found to have a speaker, valued at $75, a computer tower, valued at $1,000, a fireplace heater, valued at $200, and two washing machine tops. The items were reported stolen from a Larchmont Acres storage unit in September.  Police said additional charges could be filed.

 

LARCENY

A blue and silver Giant road bicycle valued at $350 was stolen from a Howell Road residence sometime overnight. Oct. 22

 

LARCENY

An iPhone and its case were reported stolen from a customer at International House of Pancakes at about noon. Oct. 19

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A Vine Road resident said his son left his bookbag containing a book and his eyeglasses at the playground near Murray Avenue School. When it was recovered, the items were damaged. Oct. 15

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

The rear passenger-side window of a car parked at New York Sports Club on Madison Avenue was smashed between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Nothing was reported missing. Oct. 15

 

GRAND LARCENY

Four checks, in a total amount of $15,675, $4 in cash and a leather case were stolen from a car parked at New York Sports Club on Madison Avenue between 5:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. Police said a window on the car was smashed and the items were taken from  the car’s center console. Police said there was no information on whether the checks had been cashed. Oct. 15

LARCENY

A John Jay resident said an iPod, a GPS and chargers for a variety of electronic equipment were stolen from her son’s car overnight. The woman said her son had parked the car in their driveway and left it unlocked. Oct. 15

 

LARCENY                                         

An Anchor Lane resident said a car belonging to her live-in au pair was broken into overnight.  The woman said a passenger-side window was smashed and a GPS valued at $300 and a Gucci purse valued at $500 were taken. An empty suitcase belonging to the au pair was found on the ground outside the car. Oct. 15

 

LARCENY

A Greenhaven Road resident said a passenger-side window on his car was smashed and a GPS valued at $200 was taken sometime overnight. The victim’s wife said she heard a “bang” around 5 a.m. Oct. 15

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A caller said a deer had been struck by a car on Playland Parkway at about midnight and was on the side of the road. The deer was put down and removed. Oct. 16

 

LARCENY

A Garnets flag was stolen from Poppy’s Café on Purchase Street sometime overnight. Oct. 18

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A Barlow Lane resident was escorted home at about 8:15 p.m. after she told police she was concerned she was being followed. Oct. 18

 

IDENTITY THEFT

A Richard Place resident said someone used her match.com account without her permission. The account was canceled. Oct. 21

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Myrtledale Road resident said a coyote was walking around her backyard at about 9:45 a.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. Oct. 12

 

NOISE COMPLAINT

A Meadow Road resident complained about the noise level from work being done to a stone wall at a neighbor’s home. The complainant wanted the stone-cutting work to be done indoors and was referred to the village hall for specifics on the noise ordinance. Oct. 12

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A woman baby-sitting in a Boulevard home said she feared there was a prowler at the house at about 3:45 p.m. The woman told police that when she returned home the garage door had been opened. Police checked the interior of the home and found everything in order. Oct. 12

 

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

A caller reported an elderly male carrying an overnight bag walking on Garth Road toward the train station at about  4p.m. The caller said the man, wearing a flannel shirt and shorts, looked confused and might need help. Police were unable to locate the subject. Oct. 12

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A caller reported a coyote on Dell Road at about 4 p.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. Oct. 12

 

YOUTH COMPLAINT

A Greendale Road resident said youths were loitering at the end of her driveway at about 8 p.m. Police checked the area but were unable to find any youths. Oct. 12

 

AUTO ACCIDENT

A New Fairfield, Conn., man said his car was hit by an unknown vehicle while it was parked on Aspen Road at about 8 p.m. Oct. 12

 

TRESPASSING

The owner of BodyFit  on Scarsdale Avenue said a woman whose membership from the club had been terminated came back. The former member was notified that charges would be filed if she returned. Oct. 13

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A Fox Meadow Road resident said an unknown man rang her doorbell and asked for her identity, saying he had a package for her. The resident refused to give him any information, and the man at the door allegedly ignored the resident’s request for his identification.  A short time later, a woman allegedly came to her door with the same package and asked for the same information. When the resident refused to provide any identification, the woman left the package, which had no address and no return information, at her door.  No word on what was inside the package. Oct. 13

A Wynmor Road resident reported a coyote in the area at about 10 a.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. Oct. 14

A caller reported a coyote at Greenacres School near Brewster Road at about 8 a.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. Oct 15

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Brewster Road resident said she saw a coyote in her neighbor’s backyard at about 12:30 p.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. Oct 15

 

LARCENY

A Ross Road woman said her daughter’s iPhone was stolen from her locker at Scarsdale Middle School. Oct. 15

 

LARCENY

A Lockwood Road resident said a package that contained a drum pad that was delivered to the front of her home and been taken. Oct. 15

 

TRESPASSING

The owner of Chop Stix, a Chinese food takeout restaurant on Garth Road, found a man in the basement of the business at about 3 p.m. The man said he was looking for a doctor’s office. The owner of the restaurant did not wish to pursue charges. Oct. 15

 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

An employee at Starbucks reported a loud group of about 15 teens in the footbridge area above the tracks at the train station at about 9:30 p.m. Police located the youths and sent them on their way without incident. Oct. 15

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A Fox Meadow Road resident said an unknown person rang his doorbell multiple times and then ran away just before midnight. Police checked the area but were unable to find the subjects. Oct. 15

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A car belonging to a Swarthmore Road resident who had been away for two weeks was broken into and a GPS was taken. Police believe the larceny took place the previous week. Oct. 16

 

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT

A19-year-old Scarsdale woman said she was receiving unwanted text messages and voicemails from her former boyfriend, a Mamaroneck resident. The man was made aware of her complaint and agreed to stop communication. No charges were filed. Oct. 16

 

AUTO ACCIDENT

A  Brookline Road resident said she struck a dog while driving her car on Palmer Avenue at about 11 a.m. The dog did not survive the accident. Oct. 16

 

YOUTH COMPLAINT

A caller complained of a loud group of youths at George Field Park at about 10:30 p.m. Police cleared the group out of the park but did not observe any violations. Oct. 16

 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A caller said he was being followed by a black BMW on Post Road at about 11:30 p.m. in an apparent road rage incident. Police checked the area but were unable to find either vehicle. Oct. 16

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Garden Road resident reported an injured deer on his backyard at about 7:30 a.m. Police located the deer, which was running into the woods and did not appear to be sick or injured. Oct. 17

 

DISPUTE

A Turnstall Road resident said he was engaged in a verbal dispute with two unknown men who were allowing their dogs to run around the Scarsdale High School grounds in violation of a village code at about 2:30 p.m. The complainant said he asked the men to remove the dogs from the area, and the men became confrontational and aggressive. Police issued a summons to the dog owner, and order was restored. Oct. 17

 

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

An Eastwoods Lane resident said a coyote with a broken leg was in her backyard at about 3:30 p.m. Police observed the animal, which appeared to have an injured right rear leg, as it ran off into a wooded area. Police advised the resident to call back if the animal returned. Oct. 17
