ALL THE TAXES WESTCHESTER RESIDENTS PAY AND MAIN STREET IS ALL BUMPY AND CHOPPED UP FROM PATCH WORK. IT IS AN EYESORE, AND A PAIN IN THE A_ _ TO DRIVE ON. I AM REFERRING TO MAIN STREET FROM STEVENSON BLVD, HEADING TOWARDS TACO BELL. ITS A DISGRACE!
Has ANYONE driven recently on Saxon Woods Road from Mamaroneck Avenue through to Mamaroneck Road? I cannot imagine the people who live there are happy nor do they have aligned vehicles with balanced tires. Keep small dogs, children, Mini-Coopers and Smart Cars away from there.
As usual, the Town of Mamaroneck has placed large piles of leaves on both sides of narrow, winding roads (i.e., Harrison, between Palmer and Sherwood). This forces cars in both directions to the middle, where they are more likely to collide. There have been numerous close calls to which I’ve been witness, and perhaps actual collisions. Why continue this practice, which is only courting disaster? And why leave the piles there so long, when they just get blown around by the increasingly winter-like weather? It all makes no sense, and endangers us.
Andrew B – why do you say the TOWN put the leafs there? Dont you mean residents put them there? It is not allowed to put leaves on the street, they’re supposed to be on the grass near the curb, but I know nobody follows this. Perhaps you suggest a fine for the house in front of the leaves? (That wont work either will it). Anyway the Town is not doing OT this year to pick up leaves – so get used to it!
The Town should assiduously enforce the leaf blower ban from May through September. Not only is the noise disturbing but the flying debris is filled with mold, allergens, animal excrement and other noxious items which are injurious to public health. There may even be a general air pollution problem from the engine exhaust fumes. If neighbors reported the unlawful activity on a regular basis citations would be served and fines assessed and the practice would soon stop.
