Seriously DWI in Rye

A 51-year-old Port Chester man was arrested in Rye at about 6:45 p.m. on July 17 with a blood-alcohol concentration nearly three times the legal limit.

Police said they saw the man, who was driving a Dodge Caravan, make an illegal left-hand turn onto Boston Post Road from the Interstate 95 ramp. Police said they approached the car and observed the driver staring straight ahead with the window rolled up. They asked the man to roll down the window, and he opened his door.

After he failed to obey orders and failed to follow a variety of field tests, police placed him under arrest and transported him to headquarters. The man agreed to take the chemical test, and was found to have a BAC of .23. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated.
