Thursday, Con Ed reported there were still over 7,000 people without power in Westchester…that would be day 6….Most of those are in Scarsdale, Greenburgh and Mount Vernon.

 

Power was restored to many Larchmont and Mamaroneck customers Tuesday and Wednesday with the help of power crews from Georgia and other areas around the U.S.

After last weekend’s Nor’Easter left many NYC-area resident without electricity <http://gothamist.com/2010/03/16/still_no_power_for_residents_after.php> , Con Ed’s crews are still working to have most customers’ power back by the end of today <http://gothamist.com/2010/03/17/con_ed_to_restore_power_by_thurs_wo.php> .  Most of the outages are currently in Westchester County <http://wcbstv.com/local/westchester.power.outages.2.1571851.html> ; Con Ed says it’s getting a hand from "out-of-state utility  crews from Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Kentucky and Massachusetts, which will assist Con Edison’s crews."  One Bronx resident whose power was restored on yesterdayday said <http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/bronx/2010/03/18/2010-03-18_con_ed_army_struggles_with_storm_effects.html> , "This was worse than the big blackout. I’m a military veteran, so honestly, for me, it was no problem, but for a lot of my neighbors it was very tough. We had to get Meals on Wheels over here to start delivering food. You had to see my neighbors. They were going crazy."
