Teens Arrested in Manor Melee

The three teenagers who were charged this week with the May 8 attack during a melee in Larchmont Manor Park
were identified by police from information the department received from "other kids who knew what happened," and even from notes pinned to the victim’s family’s door, according to sources close to the situation.
Two 17 year olds in Mamaroneck and a 15 year old in Harrison face felony assault charges in the attack that left 17 year old Sam Sawyer, a Mamaroneck High School student, with a broken jaw. His jaw is still wired and he must eat specially prepared food.
"These kids who came forward did the right thing," the source told theLoop.
"The good kids in this situation far outnumber the bad."
Larchmont Police say they responded May 8 at 10:15 pm to a report of a "large disorderly group" on Park Avenue and dispersed "several groups of youths."
Soon thereafter, sources say, Sawyer was injured and spent a total of 14 hours in two area hospitals; an oral surgeon was located at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
Sawyer’s parents declined to comment on the arrests.
The fight stemmed from a reported rivalry between MHS and Rye Neck High School, both in Mamaroneck.
There was also extensive damage to fences and a bench in the park.
I tell ya, that Sawyer kid can take a punch, just like his ol’ Dad, (trust me on this one!!).
