Help support the Mamaroneck High School soccer team by attending their Fundraiser on Saturday from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. at Molly Spillane’s. The U.S.A. vs. England World Cup match will be playing and there will be snack and appetizers available. World Cup balls, jerseys and MHS soccer t-shirts may be purchased. $20 adults; $10 children.

 

Let’s Help Lick Cancer, the annual ice cream fundraiser in Rye, will take place on Saturday from 12 – 3 p.m. at the Rye Recreation Upper Shelter. $5 admission will get you all the ice cream you can eat and will benefit the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. 216.150.141.225/recreation.htm

 

The fourth Explore-a-Thon is coming to Rye Playland this Sunday, courtesy of the Westchester Children’s Museum. From 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., the boardwalk will be filled with tons of interactive exhibits for children and their families. All activities are designed to nurture curiosity, enhance knowledge and excite imagination. All proceeds to benefit the campaign for the Westchester Children’s Museum. $75 per family. www.discoverwcm.org

 

This Sunday, all stylists at Everything’s Hair Salon in Larchmont will be donating 100 percent of their proceeds to Cut Out Mito, as a fundraiser for Mitochondrial Disease. Scarsdale’s Crossway Park is holding a Movie in the Park this Friday. Don’t forget a blanket and the family to enjoy Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, starting at 9 p.m. www.scarsdale.com

 

Walk Among Live Butterflies, a new exhibit at the Greenburgh Nature Center in Scarsdale, opens this Saturday and will remain open through September 30. Visitors will be surrounded by tons of butterflies and enjoy close-up encounters with the delicate animals. Exhibit entrance is included in general admission. www.greenburghnaturecenter.org

 

Justin Townes Earle will perform a concert for Seth Kaplan this Saturday at the Emelin Theatre, 8 p.m. His influences include Kurt Cobain, the Replacements, Ray Charles and others—creating a unique blend of folk-traditional music. $30. www.emelin.org

 

The Singing Harp will perform The Valiant Little Tailor at the New Rochelle Public Library on Sunday from 3 – 5 p.m. Kids can enjoy a fairytale told in a unique and interactive manner. www.nrpl.org
