COMMUNITY: On Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 5:00, The Larchmont Recreation Department and the Chamber of Commerce will be having a new event called The Larchmont Winter Stroll.  There will be two pedestrian only areas on either side of town, and stores will have special Sunday hours for holiday shopping.  There will also be specialties from local restaurants, a toy drive, cookie decorating, and a special appearance by Santa and live reindeer. 

The Loop will be there…with great gifts for those who sign up for the weekly LoopScoop or who tell our LoopTV cameras what you love about your Loop!

 

On Sunday from 12 – 2 pm you can head out to Hommocks Ice Skating Rink and skate with Santa and the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Fighters!  The price of admission is one unwrapped toy to help out with TMFD’s holiday toy drive.  www.tmfd.org

This Sunday is also The Great Westchester Toy & Train Show at County Center in White Plains.  There will be over 300 vendors with new and antique trains, parts, models and other toys for all ages.  The show starts at 9 am and entry is $12.  www.westchestertoytrain.com

The Mamaroneck Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a Holiday Celebration taking place at Molly Spillane’s from 1 to 3 pm on Sunday afternoon.  Santa will be there as well as music.  Bring an unwrapped toy along to donate to Toys for Tots.  www.mamaroneckchamberofcommerce.org

HOLIDAY MUSIC: The Westchester Chamber Orchestra  Tickets are $40 for general admission.  www.iona.edu/academic/artscouncil will be playing a selection of Bach and other Baroque music at Iona College on Saturday at 8:00, including the favorite Brandenburg Concerto with violin soloist Alex Abayev.

The Music Conservatory of Westchester will be presenting a “Holiday Jazz” concert in Rye at the Music Conservatory on Central Avenue on Friday night at 7 pm.  Tickets for this interactive and educational holiday concert are either $10 or $15.  www.musicconservatory.org 

FAMILY: On Saturday morning at 11, Steve Songs will be performing his award winning kid and family friendly music at the Emelin Theater in Mamaroneck.  Tickets are $18 for adults and $13 for children.  On Saturday night, Danny Aiello and his 8 piece band will be putting on one of his “no-holds-barred” critically acclaimed jazz performances at the Emelin for $60. www.emelin.org, www.stevesongs.com, www.dannyaiello.com

Ballet Atlantic will be putting on their 36^th annual performance of The Nutcracker at New Rochelle High School this weekend on Friday and Saturday night at 8 pm.  There will also be a performance at 2 pm on Saturday afternoon.  Tickets are $20 – $25.  

 

IF YOU MISSED IT LAST WEEKEND: Mamaroneck Fire Dept Toy Drive still going on, so is the Faculty Arts Exhibit at the Rye Arts Center and the Gift of Art Holiday Art Boutique at MAG and Holiday Arts and Crafts Show at BID in New Rochelle. The Christmas Voyager at the Westchester Broadway Theater in Elmsford.
