ART: BID Gallery 542 in New Rochelle opened a new exhibit on Thursday displaying the artwork of local artist and violinist David Tobey to benefit the Westchester Philharmonic.  50 of his works, from paintings to sculptures, will be on display until November 22nd.  www.westchesterphil.org/specialevents.asp

The KBFA Gallery in Larchmont opened a new exhibit of oil on linen paintings by Don Pollack that can be seen from now until November 28th.  www.kbfa.com

THEATER & MUSIC: The Emelin Theater’s 2009/2010 live theater season kicks off this weekend with performances of The Rivalry on Friday and Saturday.  The play is about the legendary debates of two of the best orators of American history, Abraham Lincoln and Stephan Douglass.  A huge bonus to this performance is the exhibit of Lincoln relics that will be in the lobby of the theater for this weekend only, including letters written by Lincoln and newspapers with headlines from his inauguration and other events.  Tickets are $40 and shows will be at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday night and 3 pm on Saturday afternoon.  www.emelin.org

The Westchester Chamber Orchestra will be performing a program of Antonin Dvorak on Saturday night at 8 in Iona College’s Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium.  The program will also feature solo work by cellist Amid Peled.  Tickets are $40.  www.westchesterchamberorchestra.org

NIGHTLIFE: Vintage Bar and Restaurant in White Plains is hosting a Party for the Cure on Friday night at 8 pm with raffle tickets $100, in addition to lots of food, drinks, and the cover band “The Nerds.  The event will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Westchester/Hudson Chapter.

Lusardi’s in Larchmont will be hosting a Single Gourmet event – a Single’s Dinner.  A 45 minute mix and mingle period  will be accompanied by a three or four course meal with wine.  The night costs $86 or $97 a person and starts at 6:45 on Saturday night.  www.singlegourmet-metrony.com 

DJ Anthony Ace will be at Chat 19 on Saturday night, and at the Watercolor Café – Friday night is the David Janeway Trio, and Saturday night is the Leslie Pintchik Trio, both at 9 pm.

AND… Its in Peekskill, but I have to mention it anyway.  Greg Allman, as in the founding member of the legendary Allman Brothers Band, is playing a solo concert  at the Paramount Center for the Arts on Saturday night at 8 pm.  Tickets are $45 to $65.
