 It’s all about the kids this weekend ….wait, isn’t it always?…(be sure to check theLoop calendar for more.)















Seussical winds down this weekend at the Westchester Sandbox Theatre. The final shows are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. $24 general admission; $20 students and seniors.


Head out to Scarsdale’s Crossway Park for a Movie in the Park on Friday at 9 p.m. Enjoy a screening of Monsters vs. Aliens with the whole family to kick off the weekend.


Playland’s weekly Fireworks are being shot off again this Friday at 9:15 p.m. Head over to the boardwalk to get a full view of the show. Parking is $5.




The Rye Free Reading Room’s Books & Bagels Summer Book Club is meeting on Saturday from 11 – 12 p.m. in the Mystery Room. Kids in grades 2 – 3 can enjoy bagels and a good chat about this month’s book, My Father’s Dragon, by Ruth Stiles Gannett.


The 2010 NPC Empire States Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships are taking place on Saturday at the Westchester County Center. Stop by for the prejudging at noon and the finals at 6 p.m. $17.50 for prejudging; $27.50/$37.50 for finals.


A mad scientist is stopping by the Greenburgh Nature Center this Saturday from 2 – 4 p.m. to shock viewers with some of science’s wackiest wonders. Kids ages six and up are invited to the Scientist at Work event to assist in hands-on experiments.


Kids ages seven to 10 are invited to a Celebrate Ramona! party to commemorate Beezus and Ramona’s debut on the silver screen at the Voracious Reader this Saturday from 2 – 4 p.m. There will be games, prizes and a free gift for anyone who buys one of the series’ books.


Take a moon-lit stroll during the Marshland Conservancy’s Night by Moonlight this Saturday at 8:30 p.m. You’ll explore the night’s sounds, smells and sights as the group walks along the meadow and down to the salt marsh by moonlight.
