Thursday Forecast: Brown Water

Village of Larchmont residents should think twice about drinking the water on Thursday.

It could be brown.

In a recorded telephone message Wednesday, Police Chief John Poleway said residents should check their water for discoloration beforedrinking, cooking or bathing between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m due to maintenance scheduled on the village’s fire hydrant system.

Residents may experience low water pressure as well, hesaid.

Should the problem linger post 4 p.m., Poleway said residents should run their cold water taps at a low level for about 15 minutes, after which water should return to normal.

Any questions should go to the Village Water Department, at 834-4893.
