TOM Board on Ethics, Parking and Funding a Foot Bridge

Highlights of November 3, 2010 Town of Mamaroneck Board of Trustees meeting :

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A local law known as the “Update to the Town’s Ethics Code Law” increasing the number of positions determined to be “sensitive” in the Town Code of Ethics was enacted.

 

A public hearing was scheduled for November 17, 2010 to discuss the Traffic Committee’s recommendation to prohibit parking Monday-Friday between 10 AM and 11 AM on France Place and that portion of Rochelle Road between North Chatsworth Avenue and France Place.

 

Affairs of the Town:

 

The Town Board approved an Inter Municipal agreement with the Village of Scarsdale. Per this agreement the Town of Mamaroneck will represent the Village of Scarsdale in a SCAR proceeding and any subsequent proceeding challenging the assessed valuation of a property in Scarsdale that a member of the Scarsdale Village Board has a direct interest in. The Board authorized the Town Administrator to sign the agreement.

 

The Board approved a resolution authorizing the submission of a grant application to the New York State Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administrator to assist with funding for a thirty foot trail bridge that crosses the Sheldrake River behind Hilltop Road along the Leather Stocking Trail. The bridge is showing signs of deteriorationin the wood beams. Estimated cost of the project is $50,000. Under the terms of the grant a 20% match by the applicant is required, however this can be provided through in-kind services at little or no cost to the Town.

 

The Board appointed Seth L. Marcus an alternate member of the Zoning Board.Mr. Marcus, an attorney, is a board member of the Larchmont Mamaroneck Little League and a graduate of The George Washington University Law School and Colgate University.
